Jammu, Apr 10: The Board of Cultural Activities along with NSS at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra organised a series of Street Plays on the topic "Evils in the Society". The jury members for the session were Mr. Gaurav Jamwal (Cultural Instructor, SMVDU) and Mr. Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor, University of Jammu).
Each of these plays were enthralling for the audience and everyone applauded the participants for their performance. The plays represented various problems faced by women, such as how their spouse treat them as if they are maids, how girls are molested by their own family members, how raped victims are cross-questioned and humiliated in front of all and how they are portrayed by media, the evil behaviour of men towards women after marriage, how men stalk women when they reject men, how men take revenge by harming them, like acid attacks, etc. The event was coordinated by Ms. Shreya Pandita (Student Coordinator, Theatre, SMVDU) and Mr. Manglam Mishra (Student Coordinator, Resurgence 19, SMVDU). |
