Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: A meeting of the executive body of Ajit Colony Extension Welfare Committee was held under the chairmanship of its president Bhushan Lal Koul.
The members expressed distress over the neglect of their genuine demands including construction of deep drains and black topping of the road and by-lanes.
The members said this colony of ward 32 Jammu West has suffered a lot because of apathetic attitude of those at the helm of affairs as it never got a chance to taste the much-talked 'fruit of development'.
Erstwhile MLA was apprised of these demands dozen times but to no avail. Even advisor to Governor Kewal Kumar has also been approached for redressal of these demands but so far nothing has been done in this regard, they added.
Without a proper drainage system cleanliness can't be maintained but unfortunately no drainage system was ever laid in the colony, said members adding that the dilapidated condition of road where water collects in the patholes makes both driving and walking risky.
Those who attended the meeting included Harbans Singh, vice president, Badri Nath Joshi, treasurer, Amrik Singh, Pooja Rani, Krishna Devi, Ritu, Mamta, Avtar Singh and others.
