Early Times Report
Reasi, Apr 10: While overloading in far flung areas of Reasi district is a routine, the menace has spread its tentacles in Reasi town as well. According to the sources all passengers vehicles moving inside Reasi town are carrying extra passengers whereas passenger vehicles moving from Reasi to Pouni and Reasi to Talwara are carrying double the capacity allowed by law. Sources informed that matadors having a capacity of carrying 19 passengers carry more than 30 passengers whereas tata sumos, auto vehicles carry 15 to 20 passengers. Locals from Pouni tehsil and its surroundings said, traffic police and district police deployed in area allow transporters to violate traffic rules instead of taking monthly entry from them.
Locals informed early times that, the over loading is due to monthly entry of the traffic policemen as they couldn't take any action against law violators. Locals have appealed to Director General of Police to take proper measures at the earliest.
