| DDMA to conduct mock safety drill ahead of Baisakhi Mela | | |

UDHAMPUR, Apl : Additional Deputy Commissioner. Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh today convened a meeting to review preparedness for upcoming Baisakhi Mela here in the district.
To deal with any untoward incident, the meeting decided to hold mock safety drills ahead of the festival.
ADC informed that the mock drills will cover all the activities to deal with any emergency which can occur at large congregation sites. He emphasized upon the officers and rescue operation teams to make coordinated efforts for successful conduct of the Mela. The drills will be carried out by District Disaster Management Authority, Udhampur in collaboration with concerned departments.
The ADC said that the exercise shall ensure better preparedness and enhance coordination among the stakeholders and responding agencies.
General Manager DIC, Suram Chand Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Kharati Lal Sharma, DSP Telecom, Kuldeep Raj, Secretary District Red Cross Society, Dr. V P Sharma, Inspector SDRF, Chetan Singh Charak besides others attended the meeting. |
