The facility, which came up at the cost of Rs 6 crores, under Prime Minister's Developmental Programme (PMDP) scheme, will be an additional feature for the world famous international conference which hosts the delegates, officials, corporate heads, state heads from the country and across the globe, said an official spokesman.
He said the facility will provide evening entertainment to the public and the tourists.
The musical fountain will run two shows of 15 minutes duration at 6 pm every day having seating capacity of 200 persons for one show. There will be no entry free for visitors for first 15 days after its inauguration today.
Director SKICC, Javed Humayun Bakshi said the musical fountain will provide an evening entertainment to the people of Kashmir and also to the tourists. "We are lacking evening entertainment here. "This has added one more attractive product in the tourism platter of Kashmir and will prove an effective promotional tool as well for the destination because we will be now on the international map of lazer fountain itinerary which will have a proportionate positive impact of MICE tourism sector of Kashmir," said Shahnawaz A Shah, Manager Marketing Skicc.
