Early Times Report
kishtwar, June 9: In a video captured by the newly elected Panchayat representatives in Palmar area of Kishtwar district, the students of 4th and 6th standard studying in Middle School Kulna and Meherna, both in Palmar block of Kishtwar, fail to identify the random numerical numbers from 50 to 100. They also fail to identify the alphabets and spelling of letters from A-Z.
As per details available with "Early Times", the local Panchayat representatives including Sarpanch and Panches on Saturday visited the Middle School Kulna and Meerna and found majority of the teaching and non-teaching staff absent from their duties.
These public representatives said that in order to prove their claims, they captured the video of whole event where students of 2nd to 6th standard fail to correctly spell the words from Apple to Zebra while at the same time they fail to identify the counting numbers too from 50-100.
They said that they mostly found the Headmaster of the school absent as and when they visited the school and called upon the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to look into the matter.
A lady Sarpanch said that she also visited the office of the Chief Education Officer Kishtwar and brought the matter as well as the plight of the school including prevailing absenteeism culture in these two schools into his notice. She said that even though CEO assured to look into the matter, nothing was done.
She said they now had decided to bring a resolution in Panchayat assembly and same will be handed over to DC Kishtwar with the prayer to look into the issue, besides to access the potential of the students and to fix the responsibility on the guilty teaching staff who fail to perform their duties as a result of which the student of even 6th standard fail to correct the spelling of letters from Apple to Zebra.
