Early Times Report

Kishtwar, June 28: Jammu Kashmir police, army and CRPF along with other law enforcing agencies today foiled an attempt of a group of militants to sneak into Kishtwar to carry out terror strike.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the security forces within minutes after receiving information about the movement of militants in a swift vehicle approaching towards Kishtwar town immediately swung into action and launched a massive search and cordon operation into the town and its adjoining areas as a result of which the life in Kishtwar came to a standstill. The CASO, reports said caused massive traffic jams.
The security forces swung into action as soon as eyewitnesses told them about the presence of a group of 4 militants and a OGW supporting them., reports said.
A senior official told the "Early Times" that there is an input of militants trying to sneak into Kishtwar town adding that the exact number could not be known, however he said that initial report suggested a group of 3-4 militants has manage to sneak into outskirts of Kishtwar town from adjoining Keshwan belt.
Meanwhile security forces have laid cordon around Kishtwar city forest area at Machgadi near Poochal after people saw some suspected gunmen running towards the area.
The sources said that security forces had zeroed in some militants in the area and due to darkness, the security forces are moving ahead with caution to avoid any collateral damage.
The Machgadi area which is located at the distance of around 5-6 KM from Kishtwar town witnessed massive encounter nearly 25 years ago which continued for two consecutive days resulted into the killing of top rank militant commander Farooq Ahmed Kamal of Hizbul Mujahideen.
The search operation was going on in other areas of Kishtwar when last reports came in.
