DDC Rajouri takes reviews progress in construction of Border Bunkers

RAJOURI, June 29: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting with the concerned officers to review the progress of bunker construction being executed by RDD and PWD in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Chief planning officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Executive Engineer REW, Executive Engineer PWD Rajouri and concerned Block Development Officers.
During the meeting the BDOs informed that there are a total of 1892 bunkers under the execution of RDD out of which 1745 are individual and 147 are community bunkers. It was further informed that the work on 1676 bunkers including 1615 individual and 61 community bunkers has been started which are in different phases of execution, like the work of 685 bunkers is at foundation level, 280 at superstructure level and the slab on 252 at slab level and there are 459 bunkers which are completed in all respects.
BDOs raised the issue of shortage of cement and other building material. DDC asked the BDOs to give the report of material received and its shortage on a daily basis so that any issue regarding the shortage of material can be resolved as early as possible. He also stressed upon the officers to ensure that there is no communication gap between the executing agency and the material supplying agency.
The XEN PWD Nowshera informed that there are 1116 bunkers in Nowshera division out of which there are 1000 individual and 116 community bunkers. He also informed that 270 bunkers including 259 individual and 11 community bunkers have been completed in all respects. He further told that the work on 668 bunkers has been started and are in different phases of execution.
The Assistant Executive Engineer from PWD Rajouri informed that there are 133 bunkers in Rajouri division including 72 individual and 61 community bunkers. He further said that the 32 bunkers are complete and the work on remaining 101 bunkers is in different phases of execution.
DDC told the officers to work with added zeal so that the set targets are achieved well in time. The DDC directed the concerned Executing Agency to speed up the construction work on these bunkers.
