SDM discusses arrangements for Buddha Amarnath Yatra

MENDHAR, July 24: Sub Division Magistrate (SDM) Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandyal today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the smooth conduct of upcoming Shri Buddha Amarnath Yatra 2019. The meeting was attended by SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar Tehsildars, religious heads, and all concerned district officers. Members of civil society appraised the SDM about the requirement for the upcoming Yatra. During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held to put in place the available resources and providing sheds, toilets, ambulance, water, light and other services to the yatris reaching for Bhimber Gali (BG)
The SDM directed the AEE PHE to arrange sufficient drinking water supply along with water tankers round the clock at the langer sites whereas PDD was directed to arrange power supply.
The concerned Police officers and langer organizations were instructed to act promptly for avoiding any traffic jam in the area which may cause discomfort to the pilgrims. SDM further directed various langer organizations to follow the standard operating procedures to ensure smooth service in langer areas.SDM directed BMO Mendhar to install a medical camp during the yatra and also arrange an ambulance.
SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar assured that adequate security arrangements have been made and also informed the chair about regulation of traffic during Yatra. He also called upon all the departments to maintain close coordination with Yatra control room for providing timely services to the Yatris.
