India rejects US mediation on Kashmir

Following the US President, Donald Trump, indicating that he was ready to mediate between Pakistan and India but New Delhi has described the issue bilateral and not any other country should mediate. After US President Donald Trump's remarks about mediation on Kashmir, the State Department on Tuesday said it was a "bilateral" issue between India and Pakistan, and the US "welcomes" the two countries "sitting down" for talks while US was ready to assisIt also said Pakistan taking "sustained and irreversible" steps against militancy is key to a successful dialogue with India.And the US has virtually supported India's policy on Kashmir with Pakistan.India has been conveying to Islamabad to end export of terror which would prompt India to Reopen channels of dialogue."While Kashmir is a bilateral issue for both parties to discuss, the Trump administration welcomes Pakistan and India sitting down and the United States stands ready to assist," a State Department spokesperson has said in response to a question if Trump's remarks reflect a change in the country's policy on Kashmir. It is not known whether Trump is supporting Pakistan or India.Earlier the Donald Trump Government suspended security aid to Pakistan but to compensate that decision Trump has suggested mediation between India and Pakistan.BUt quick was the reaction from India despite the fact that Trump has stated that Kashmir is a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India and he suggested that let India and Pakistan to settle the dispute by meeting each other.
