7/26/2019 9:48:23 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 26: Farmers affected by Srinagar Semi Ring Road on Friday met with senior BJP leaders in Srinagar to apprise them about the issue of non payment of fair compensation to them. During the meeting BJP leaders Ravinder Raina , Shamlal Sharma and Ashok Kaul assured the delegation that they will take up the issue with Governor in the coming days.
Details available with Early Times reveal that a delegation headed by President of Ring Road Land Owners Welfare Committee G A Paul met with BJP State President Ravinder Raina , senior leaders Shamlal Sharma and Ashok Kaul in Srinagar . The delegation urged upon the BJP leaders to take up their issue with Governor administration.
"BJP leaders assured our delegation that the issue of Srinagar and Jammu Ring Roads would be addressed soon as the party has taken this issue very seriously" said G A Paul while talking to Early Times
As reported already with an aim of creating hassle-free movement of army and other security force vehicles on Srinagar Jammu highway (NH 44) Govt as per sources took up Srinagar Ring Road construction work with Home Minister Amit Shah during his 2 day visit to Jammu & Kashmir.
As the frequent congestion of traffic from Awantipora to Baramulla has lead to chaos among commuters and security forces both, the same could have been reduced provided there was an alternate highway, but in-spite of tenders being invited and allotted for the said project (Srinagar Semi Ring Road) connecting Gallandar Pampore with Ganderbal via Chadoora, Budgam , Narbal, Sarai Dangarpora, the work on the project has not been taken up as there are issues related to land acquisition. The affected farmers are not ready to give land for this alternate highway as they allege of being given very less compensation by Government.
" Srinagar Ring road can be helpful not only to local commuters , but this will be of great help to security forces going to North Kashmir and Ladakh. The highway will he helpful to Amarnath Yatris as well because they would not have to cross Lasjan bypass via Nowgam , Bemina or Shalteng which are the most congested places that witness frequent traffic jams. The vehicles going to North Kashmir's Kupwara , Baramulla will also not get struck in traffic jams. Our only demand is fair compensation which is not given to us . We have now again brought the matter into BJP leadership who assured to take up the issue with Governor " said Ali Mohammad an affected farmers from Budgam.
