Flights to Kargil likely by December this year 8/1/2019 11:08:39 PM Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 1 Jammu and Kashmir's Kargil will soon allow commercial flights to land in its airport by the end of this year. Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik announced a plan to commence operations to upscale the existing Kargil airport's infrastructure to be able to handle tourist traffic. As per Airports Authority of India, Kargil airport currently possesses the base infrastructure such as the ATC tower and an existing runaway of 6,000 feet.
