Kashmiri migrants for simplifying M forms process
8/2/2019 12:16:15 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 1: With State Election Department on way to set summary revision of electoral rolls, the Kashmiri Pandits have demanded revision of their voter lists bmwhich should be started with the process of filling up of M Forms to ensure maximum participation of migrants in voting.
The demand was made by various socio -political activists of the community who said that the process of filling up of M Form be completed much earlier before elections so that maximum displaced people from Valley can fill up these forms and endure their participation in elections.
They said that in case BJP wants the migrants should vote eass in Assembly poll they should pursue Election Commission of India to do away with M Form system either or start the process of filling up of the same from today so that majority of displaced people can vote in the elections.
The KP activists said a misinformation camapaign is being launched by certain vested interests against the displaced persons that the community is not casting its vote deliberately.
The community activists while highlighting the problems being faced by displaced people in filling of M Forms are grave and cumbersome due to which maximum people are unable to fill up these forms and hence prefer not to fill up the M Forms.
Keeping these difficulties in view they said the Government should go for simplification of the process so that the displaced people don't face any problem in filling the M Forms and process for the same be started from today so that migrants spread all over country can fill up these forms in time.
The socio political activist and ex Sarpanch Nana Ji Raina has also asked BJP to take a stand in this regard and ensure that M Forms forms filling up process should start soon after summery revision of electoral rolls ends.
Another social activist Piaray Lal has also supported this saying if BJP really means that displaced people from Kashmir should cast their vote to strengthen democratic process in the State.
It may be recalled that Kashmiri migrants vote can prove decisive in some Valley Constituencies Luke Habbakadal, Amirakadal, Bijbehara as well as Anantnag in case of a low voter turnout. In case migrants vote enmass in these Constituencies they can tilt the balance in these Valley Constituencies.
