Rajauri, Aug 1: Even as the government recently issued a fresh order seeking detachment of all the teachers who have been attached away from their original place of posting, scores of teachers in Sunderbani tehsil here continue to enjoy "their choice of attachment."
Official sources said atleast five teachers in zone Lower Hathal alone continue to be attached for years.
Officials said one of them, who is an ReT and thus couldn't be attached has been attached with the office of Director School Education Jammu in brazen violation of norms. "None of them is being detached as they enjoy patronage of the powerful and mighty," said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said corruption and favoritism rule the roost in education department.
When contacted the Chief Education Officer Rajauri declined to comment on the issue. Meanwhile the locals have appealed Governor SP Malik and his Advisor Farooq Khan to personally look into the matter. |
