Rajiv Chuni accuses BJP of double speak, dishonesty
8/2/2019 12:28:11 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 1: Maintaining that conducting State Assembly elections without delimitation will amount to deceiving people of Jammu and Kashmir, Chairman of SOS International (an organization of PoK Displaced Persons), Rajiv Chuni has accused the Bhartiya Janta Party of double speak.
"Any attempt to impose elections without delimitation of the Assembly constituencies, as evident from the actions and announcements of ruling BJP, will be fraught with people of the State, more particularly of Jammu and PoK Displaced Persons," he said in a statement, issued here today. Rajiv Chuni alleged that BJP's gearing up for elections without delimitation was contrary to earlier stand of the ruling party. "This has once again exposed the BJP and proved that the party has no sincerity towards sentiments of people, who were expecting justice under the President rule," he added. While elaborating, Chuni said that the Displaced Persons had high expectations from BJP because of its delimitation slogan with the particular hope that opening of one third seats reserved for PoK would help the community to have their own representatives in the State Assembly. However, he added, the sudden shift of BJP stand for going to polls without delimitation and opening PoK seats had severely hurt the displaced community, which could never pardon this party of compromises, double speak and deceit.
Rajiv Chuni further alleged that in comparison to previous regimes, BJP Government did more harm to the PoK Displaced community, which had trusted the party because of its slogans like `Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'. "We are now realizing the truth behind this slogan, which actually means support of everyone, including PoK DPs, but development of only selected ones, particularly KP migrants," he jeered.
