International Nagar Kirtan to reach Jammu on Aug 4 8/2/2019 12:28:39 AM Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: Sikh Sangat of the state to welcome the international Nagar Kirtan entering J&K on August 4 from Lakhanpur to Jammu said Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman, Sikh United Front, J&K. While addressing a joint press conference of various Sikh religious bodies he said that it is an occasion of great religious importance that this Nagar Kirtan which started from Nankana Sahib, birth place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji today, will be entering J&K on August 4 on the occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Wazir further elaborated that the present living generation is truly blessed as it is during their lifetime that 550th birth anniversary of Baba Nanak is being celebrated and they should whole heartedly submit themselves to the Sikh philosophy espoused by the first guru. To show their respects and commitment to the path shown by Guru ji, Sikhs in particular and others in general should line up from Lakhanpur to Jammu national highway and welcome the international Nagar Kirtan with all religious fervor. Wazir expressed gratitude on behalf of all the Sikh organizations J&K to His Holiness Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahab, Poonch for leading the religious celebrations in the state throughout the year till the month of November on this Holy occasion of celebrations of 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Wazir informed that Shriman Mahant Manjeet Singh Ji has chalked out various religious functions starting from Poonch, Noushera, Udhampur, Jammu, Kathua, Batote and various districts of Kashmir during the coming months details of which shall be announced very soon.
