Govt sanctions Rs 600 cr to set up 28 receiving stations in Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 2: Advisor K Skandan, K.K Sharma today co chaired a meeting to review the progress on power projects sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Development Package (PMDP) for Jammu and Samba districts.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, Chief Engineer M&RE, Sudhir Gupta, Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra, VC JDA, Vikas Sharma and senior functionaries of concerned department while Commissioner Secretary PDD, Hirdesh Kumar attended the meeting through video conferencing.
It was informed that to provide 24x7electricity to Jammu city, Rs 600 crore has been sanctioned for development/establishment of 28 receiving stations in Jammu city and its peripheries and 2 kanal land is required for each receiving station. It was further informed that land has been identified and the process of acquisition is in progress.
The concerned officers further informed that the work is going on for laying LT and HT lines for 6 R-Stations for which land has been provided, while for 22 others, land is yet to be transferred to the department. The Advisors, while seeking details of land acquisition, were told that the 11 sites pertain to Revenue Department, 6 to JDA, 1 to JMC, 1 Housing Department and 1 PHE Department.
The Advisors asked the concerned departments, agencies, to expedite the transfer of land to facilitate the development of projects vital for improving Power supply scenario in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu assured the advisor that district administration is working on it and land would be provided to concerned department within week's time. Deputy Commissioner Samba, informed that district administration is preparing revenue papers of land. It would be handed over to concerned department at the earliest, he added.
The VC JDA informed that 4 sites have been cleared and handed over to concerned department, while rest 2 would be provided to concerned department within days. It was further informed that 6 transmission projects have also been sanctioned in Jammu and Samba and work on 3 projects is in progress while there are land issues for the other 3 projects which pertain to district Samba and Jammu. The DC Jammu informed that land measuring 100 Kanal has been identified for transmission project at Nagrota and it would be provided within days to concerned department. The Advisors asked the concerned departments for resolving these issues and provide land to Power Development Department for execution of projects sanctioned under PMDP.
