Anti-encroachment drive at Samba: 131 Kanal, 27 marla government land retrieved

Samba, Nov 1: The district administration under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today carried out an anti-encroachment drive retrieving 131 Kanal and 27 marla government land at Bagla and Pekhari villages.
At Bagla village, the administration retrieved 121 Kanal 13 Marla of government land while 5 Kanal 7 Marla of government land was retrieved at village Pekhari.
Superintended of Police, Samba, Shakti Pathak accompanied the DC.
During the anti-encroachment drive, three JCB machines were pressed into action at Bagla village where boundary walls, multiple entry gates, permanent and other illegal structures were constructed over 121 Kanal and 13 Marlas adjoining the National Highway 44 near Thandi Khui.
On the direction of DC, SDM Vijaypur, CP Kotwal dismantled every illegally constructed structure built on government land.
Following the drive, the illegal encroachment of Anand farms Banquet & Lawns on NH14 at village Pekhari, near Thandi Khui on 5 Kanal, 7 marla was also dismantled.
The drive was accomplished in assistance with JK Police, Samba under supervision of SSP, Samba.
Deputy Commissioner said that the places where anti- encroachment drive was carried out shall be manned by police personal and Revenue officers who were directed to initiate the demarcation process immediately. He said any encroachment on government land in the district shall not be viewed leniently and action as warranted under law shall be initiated.
