11/1/2019 11:16:59 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 1: After facing huge embarrassment for not being invited to the swearing-in the ceremony of Lieutenant Governor which held at Srinagar on Thursday, the top State BJP leaders were seen saving face from their workers as they were not got space in guests list.
On Thursday, GC Murmu was sworn in as the first Lieutenant-Governor of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir following the bifurcation of the state in two union territories. Member of Parliament of BJP, PDP were among the over 250 guests present in the function.
Sources said that State BJP leaders were damn sure that they would be invited to the function and were also seen talking to their workers in this context but at the eleventh hours when they were not found in the list of guests despite rooms were booked by them in Srinagar, they started to find some excuse to face their workers.
It has been learnt that only MP rank and senior bureaucrats were invited and State level politicians including Presidents of different parties were kept out of the function by making the exclusive functions which brought huge humiliation to the local leaders who were much excited and sure about invitations from the administration.
"All their hopes were dashed to the ground and felt insulted before their workers. They could not believe that such treatment will be given to them as they were seen talking that this behavior the organizers have lowered their stature before their workers," they said.
A senior BJP worker, wishing not to be named, told that former Minister and senior BJP leaders had told workers that they would not be available in Jammu for some days as he has to attend the swearing-in of LG in Srinagar but nothing has been done in the context.
"The party workers were visiting in the houses of the state top brass and redressal the problem of their constituencies and wards were avoided just because they had to attend the above-said function, "the worker stated, adding that few leaders had already reached Srinagar to attend the ceremony before few days stay away from embossment.
