Early Times Report
KATHUA, Nov 1: The land grabbers in Bani town have not even spared a land belonging to a temple from illegally encroaching it.
Astonishingly, the temple land (Thakur Mandir) situated in Khasra No 158 is allegedly being encroached by none other than few Revenue officials as was stated by the Eradication of Corruption Society, an NGO.
Pranav Sharma, Tehsil President of Eradication of Corruption Society, alleged that the encroachers of the temple land are no one else but the officials of Revenue department adding that they approached the concerned department several times but the issue was deferred deliberately.
He said Madan Lal, who is one among the encroachers is presently posted as Naib Tehsildar at Kathua, Shiv Kumar as a Tehsildar presently posted at Talab Tillo Jammu and Romesh Chander, a Naib Tehsildar presently posted in Jammu adding that action against all these officials lawfully should be initiated as all are culprits of encroachment.
Sharma alleged that Sarpanch of Bani is also hand in glove with other encroachers.
Pranav Sharma requested the District administration that proper and legal action as warranted under law may be taken against the encroachers.
Meanwhile, Congress District President, Manhor Lal Sharma told Early Times that the encroachment of temple land in Bani is very unfortunate and unlawful. He also urged the administration to take strict legal action against the encroachers.
When contacted, SDM Bani Joginder Singh Jasrotia said that a commission has been constituted under the supervision of Tehsildar Bani, who will inquire into the matter and will submit a report. He assured that the culprits will be dealt as per law.
