Teenage driving goes unchecked in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Nov 1: Even though the Government has brought stringent laws to deal with menace of teenage driving, same is going on unchecked in hilly District of Kishtwar in Jammu Division.
As per the details available with Early Times, in one such latest incident, an 8 year old minor was injured after a teenaged riding a Scooty hit him in Malipath area of Kishtwar district and escaped from the spot leaving the minor in pool of blood.
The injured minor was hit when he was standing on the edge of the road and a speeding Scooty hit him as a result of which, he fell down. The minor received injury on his nose and head in the mishap. He was immediately shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar by his parents where doctors diagnosed him with nose fracture along with other injuries.
The matter was also brought into the notice of Kishtwar Police who assured action against the guilty.
The driver of the Scooty who escaped from the spot had been identified by the passerby and people hope for action against him as per the law.
Speaking to Early Times, the people rued the functioning of Traffic Police adding that instead of curbing on over loading and teenage driving, the traffic police and law enforcing agencies are busy in other priorities.
