JAMMU, Nov 1: Sports Club of Government Degree College Bishnah today organized an Athletic Meet to celebrate the 550 Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A large number of students participated in the event. In Shotput male category event, Rohit Raj won first prize whereas in female category Sonali won first prize. In Relay Race (4x100) male category, first prize was bagged by Gourav Kumar, Vishal Singh, Dheeraj Thapa and Gurdeep Kumar whereas in female category the first prize was bagged by Farida Bibi, Arushi Charak, Rekha Kumari and Lakshmi Devi. In l00 mtrs race, Gourav Kumar and Farida Bibi won first prize in male & female categories whereas in 200mtrs race Gourav Kumar won first prize. In discus throw Mukhtyar Ali bagged the first prize. The Principal of the college, Dr. Kulvinder Kour impressed upon the students to participate enthusiastically in sports, as it will automatically enhance their educational skills. The sports activities were officiated under the convenership of Dr. Seema Jamwal. Other prominent officials present in the event were Amrit Kour, Principal of Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bishnah, Prof. Archana Bakshi, Dr. Seema Sudan, Prof. Amit Sharma, Dr. Satndeep Kotwal, Prof. Mohd Qayoom, Prof. Priyanka Mahajan and Neenu (PTI). Ramesh Sharma, Retd. Coach, working for Sports Authority of India and Sonu Singh, Coach in Jammu University helped to conduct the programme smoothly. |
