| SIE Jammu organises consultative workshop | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 1: A one day consultative workshop on Nai Talim - Experiential Learning was organised by SIE Jammu in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi. National Council of Rural Education, MHRD GOI, Hyderabad on 01.11.2019 which was attended by Principals of DIETs of Jammu Division along with faculty of SIE Jammu and DIETs. J.K. Sudan Joint Director (Trgs)/Principal, SIE Jammu inaugurated the workshop and welcomed all the participants and threw light on Gandhi's philosophy of Education and said this was the need of the hour to follow Nai-Talim i.e Gandhian Approach to Basic Education in a holistic manner where all aspects of the individual, intellectual, physical, social and spiritual- are cultivated in a curriculum. He specially thanked Chairman MGNCRE Dr W.G Prasunna Kumar for his efforts in promotion of the mission. He also urged the participants to participate actively in the workshop and come up with a community engagement curriculum that will benefit the teachers and students of J&K. Dr. Syed Zahra, Academic Consultant, MGNCRE GOI, Hyderabad, Programme Co-ordinator MGNCRE shared the background with objectives of the workshop and deliberated on various issues focussing on Gandhian ideology revolving around ability, confidence building, tolerance and skills in the present education system. |
