SKUAST-TAJ discuss issues of teaching fraternity

Jammu, Nov 1: The executive meeting of the office bearers of SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) was today held in which agendas pertaining to the teachers were discussed.
President of TAJ, Dr. Vikas announced in the meeting that the Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) appointed in KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu in pay band of Rs. 15600-39100/- with grade pay Rs.5400/- are granted academic pay grade of Rs.6000 instead of Rs.5400 and very soon Programme Assistants of KVKs of SKUAST-Jammu will be granted academic pay grade of Rs.6000.
The advisor of teaching association Dr RK Samnotra expressed concern regarding the promotion of teachers from AGP Rs. 8000 to Rs. 9000, who have completed 12 years of service with Ph.D degree as the scheme has already been approved by Board of Management of SKUAST-Jammu at its 27th meeting held on 11th February, 2017 and University Council of SKUAST-Jammu in its 16th meeting held on 17th April, 2017.
The scheme got assent by the Hon'ble Chancellor (HE, GOVERNOR OF J&K) vide No. GS-1(Amend-AUJ / 2012-17 /3282 dated 11.07.2017 and then the scheme was notified by Hon"ble Vice Chancellor vide notification No.16 Secy. of 2017 dated 19.07.2017. The house opined that administration should immediately call applications and conduct interviews of such candidates. The house also showed concern for the speedy disposal of all the pending CAS cases of teachers / scientists of SKUAST-Jammu.
Dr. Vivak M Arya- General Secretary, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rai-Joint Secretary, Dr Devinder Sharma- Publicity Secretary, Dr. Rajeev Bharat-Treasurer, the meeting was attended by Dr. Poonam Parihaar, Dr. Jai Kumar, Dr Anil Bhat, Dr. Amitesh Sharma, Dr. Muneeshwar Sharma and other executives of the association.
