UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: The Udhampur unit of Bharat Scouts and Guides today celebrated the Foundation day which coincides with the birthday of its founder Lord Baden Powell.
District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, was the chief guest, while District Secretary Bharat Scouts and Guides Balwan Singh presided over the function.
Over 500 Scouts and Guides including heads of different educational institutions participated in the programme.
Addressing the students, the chief guest called upon them to actively participate in the activities of Scouts and Guides movement besides taking part in extra-curricular activities. He advised them to follow the motive of Scouts and Guides movement and encourage more and more youths for serving towards eradicating certain social evils from the society. During the programme, the students presented a cultural programme.
