Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 7: Some of the senior politicians who were detained at the Centaur Hotel here for the around 90 days are likely to be shifted to Jammu in the coming days.
Sources said the government was looking into the avenues of shifting the politicians to a "Centaur Hotel like" facility in Jammu.
Sources said the authorities are of the opinion that providing heating arrangements to the detained politicians in Kashmir wouldn't be that easy during the coming harsh winter months.
"Some of them(detained leaders) are senior citizens and have been complaining of cold conditions. Though the alternative accommodation in Srinagar has assured to provide heating arrangements, ensuring 24-hour warmth is not possible. So, shifting them to Jammu is a better option," said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the matter has been discussed with some of the detained politicians who have sought time to discuss the matter with their families.
"What we opine is that most of them are personally willing to be shifted to Jammu but have told the concerned that they would need to discuss the matter with their families before giving a consent," said a source. He said the administration was looking for a government owned facility in Jammu where the prospective shifting of the detained netas can take place.
It is pertinent to mention that over two dozen senior politicians including three former Chief Ministers were taken into custody after the abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5.
While former Chief Minister Dr Abdullah has been booked under the Public Safety Act at his residence in Gupkar in Srinagar, his successors on the chair, son Omar Abdullah, and Mehbooba Mufti are detained at Hari Nivas and Cheshmashahi, respectively.
The other senior leaders including Sajad Lone, Naeem Akhter, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Ashraf Mir, Tanvir Sadiq and Salman Sagar are among those detained at the Centaur Hotel on the banks of Dal Lake.
