Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 7: Shying of using bullet motorcycle provided by department, the rich inspectors of traffic department are using their own luxurious car for even official purposes.
Highly placed sources informed Early Times that the J&K Transport Department provided one bullet motorcycle for each inspector posted in ARTO offices in erstwhile J&K state. "Most of the motorcycles remained unutilized, as the rich inspectors preferred to use their own personal cars for even officials purposes, including conducting checking of vehicles and other jobs", they said, adding that the bikes were provided around eight months back. "Even registration of the bikes has not yet done by the department", sources said, adding that it proves boondoggling of the funds.
"Out dated vehicles have been allotted to ARTOs posted in various districts of J&K", sources said, adding that instead of making useless expenditure, the department should have provided new vehicles to ARTOs.
RTO Jammu, Dhananter Singh did not respond to even as repeated calls were made to contact him.
Similarly, repeated calls to Principal Secretary J&K Transport Department, Asgar Samoon also remained unanswered.
