Govt should hold talks with Jammu Bar Association: Citizens' Forum
11/7/2019 9:45:54 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 7: Citizens' Forum has requested Lt Governor to hold parleys with the Jammu HC Bar Association to settle the issues concerning the common people of Jammu region.
"We are nobody to advise the working of the Government but to maintain law and order and peace in Jammu, which unnecessarily is also suffering along with Kashmir because of strict restriction imposed there, due to the prevailing conditions, talks with the agitating lawyers must be held," said Citizens' Forum.
R K Chadha, president Citizens' Forum said that Jammu is passing through a very rough stage of depression and lack of peace of mind. Government declared the UT as disturbed area and it is issuing orders in a hurry, which are against interest of people of the region and that too without having any discussion on the subjects. There is a lot of hue and cry on the two recent orders regarding shifting of Jammu HC building and transfer of registration powers to Revenue department. We request the Lt Governor to discuss the pros and cons of the issues with members of the Bar association and then take the final decision and save unnecessary harassment being faced by the general people. We have full faith in the working of the new government and wish it should listen to the wishes of the people, which never happened during previous successive governments in this state.
Chadha further said that Raika- Bahu Forest is the life line of Jammu city and lawyers of Jammu Bar Association are political life line of Jammu region people against the Kashmiri leaders onslaught for discrimination of Jammu. Chadha welcomes Dr C L Gupta, the renowned and very senior retired doctor joining Citizen's Forum.
Signatory to the statement included ADGP SS Wazir, Dr Mrs Ravinder Madan, KB Jandyal former PSC Member, Dr Arun Guta (MIER), Arun Sharma, Prem Gupta IGP Rtd, R K Handa,
P P Sharma IFS, S P Sharma senior journalist, Shiban Khaibri, Deepak Handa, Veena Handa, Manjit Manocha, Pooja Malhotra, Sarita Oswal, Samir Bhasin and Sunny Dua.
