DC Jammu reviews arrangements for Guru Nanak Devi Ji Prakash Parab, Eid- e-Milad-un-Nabi

JAMMU, Nov 7: Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan, today convened a meeting with district administration and representatives of the Sikh and Muslim organizations to discuss and review arrangements for celebration of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi.
The DC had a detailed review of the arrangements being put in place by various departments including transportation, water and power supply, sanitation, medical facilities and other basic amenities in and around Gurudwaras and Mosques in the district during the festivals.
Sushma Chauhan asked the Traffic Department to ensure proper management and regulation of traffic to avoid inconvenience to the devotees. Similarly, Police department was asked to ensure adequate arrangements of security by deploying additional police personnel.
DC directed Jammu Municipal Corporation to ensure sanitation in and around the Gurudwaras as well as Mosques and install and repair street lights. He asked the Health department to ensure adequate medicare and keep standby emergency ambulance services at the venues of major congregations.
It was informed that Nagar Kirtan of devotees from Chand Nagar, Jammu will start at 9 am on 9th November 2019 passing through Vivekanand Chowk, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Police Lines, Hotel Asia, Green Belt Chowk, Gole Market, Shivaji Chowk with culmination at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu at around 5pm.
The meeting was attended by SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh, SSP Traffic Jammu, Joginder Singh, ADC Jammu, Rishpal Singh, President Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu, Tarlochan Singfh Wazir, Secretary, Fateh Singh, President of Muslim Federation, President Jamia Masjid and various officers from different departments.
