KVK Kathua organizes Animal Health Camp

Jammu, Nov 7: Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathua under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu today organized Animal Health Camp at Village Lakholi, District Kathua in collaboration with ICAR-IVRI, Palampur.
The Veterinary Clinical Camp was organised under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Dr. K.S.Risam. More than 50 farm families of Village Lakholi and nearby village panchayats participated in the camp and get their animals treated by the specialist doctors.
Senior Scientist & Head, KVK Kathuam, Dr. Vishal Mahajan formally welcomed the doctors and farmers in the camp and elaborated the importance of livestock farming in village Lakholi and nearby areas. A team of experts including Senior Scientist, Dr. Uma Shankar Pati, Scientist from ICAR-IVRI, Dr. Devi Gopinath, Palampur emphasized upon the scientific practices of keeping livestock.
Dr. Devi Gopinath discussed about various aspects of livestock management to improve the productivity of animals. They attended more than 125 cases of animals including cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats, horses and dogs related to gynecology, medicine, surgery and nutrition. SMS, Animal Sciences, KVK Kathua, Dr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, delivered an expert lecture on scientific practices of livestock production.
Dr. Berjesh Ajrawat, Dr. Saurav Gupta, of KVK Kathua also assisted in the organisation of camp.
