Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 25: The Block Development Office Gundna of district Doda has severely come under scanner for siphoning off lakhs under MGNREGA scheme as payments were released for the works which were never done on ground.
The revelation was made through an RTI reply, which disclosed the many developmental works were shown done and subsequently their payments were released on papers only but factually the same don't exist on ground.
They further said that the construction of drain at AB-Gani Khandi to Mohalla under wage list No 1409017W1001836 with wage list agency No: 149017W1001836-JAKAOPRMNGR-B wage list date 16-05-2016 muster roll period 16-12-2015 to 31-03-2016 with an estimated cost of Rs 1 Lakh was shown executed on paper but shockingly the same doesn't exist on ground.
Similarly there are many other works which were fraudulently shown executed on papers only and their payments have allegedly withdrawn by the department including construction of P/Path Nazir Attu to Abdul Latief Angher 1409017017/RC/15617 with estimated cost of Rs 1.50 lakh, construction of P/Path upper Wanipora to Gh Ahmed with estimated cost of Rs 2 lakh with wage list 1409017W1002681, wage list Agency No. 1409017W1002681-KADAOPMNGR-B. Wage list dated 03-06-2016, muster roll period 20-11-2015 to 21-03-2016.
"Construction of P/Path Sheikh Pura 4 to Persuail B with estimated cost of Rs 1 lakh was shown spent in different plan both in 2014 as well as during 2015-2016 with amount on single work shown in different way but never found on ground. Construction of P/Path at Wanipora Ward No-5 Persuil B with estimated cost RS 2 lakh under different wage list with muster period 20-11-2015 to 31-03-2016 received the same fate," RTI reveals.
The unfair means of the BDO Gundan didn't stop here, it continue to keep on same strategy wherein construction of P/Path Gugorie to Traigahad - Persuil -D with cost of Rs 2 lakh was mentioned completed and payment released, construction of P/Path Fatay Mohd and others, Persuil-B with estimated cost of Rs 1 lakh under different wage list was also given the same treatment
