Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 25: The reconstitution of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Communication (JKPSC) has left the fate of many candidates who have passed the exam in hanging. Among those candidates include over 229 Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) 2018 candidate who had pass main exams.
The result of KAS (2018) main exams was declared on November 5.
While as, last week in a letter written by top official of General Administration Department had communicated to Public Service Commission and had written that, "A fresh exercise would be undertaken to reconstitute the prestigious recruitment body".
The letter reads, "It has been decided that a fresh exercise for reconstitution of the Public Service Commission is required to be initiated as all appointees are deemed to have held the office till the appointed day".
An official said, "The reconstitution of Public Service Commission member means all the member who were part of Public Service Commission are deemed to have held the office till only October 31, 2019".
He added that which means in that situation the selected candidates will have to be interviewed again by the new members of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission. However, if the order is validated by the department then there will be no new interviews. Only time will tell, what will happen in coming time.
It is pertinent to mention here that the General Administration Department had invoked section 16 of Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act 2019. While as with the reconstitution of Public Service Commission, the panel will get new Chairman and member like other commission.
However the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act 2019 had given legal cover to continuation of chairman and member of Public Service Commission.
"The persons holding office immediately before the appointed day as the chairman or other member of the Public Service Commission for the existing State of Jammu and Kashmir shall, as from the appointed day, be the Chairman or, as the case may be, the other member of the Public Service Commission for the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, "reads sub-section (3) of section 93 of J&K Re-Organization Act.
