| DDC Rajouri finalizes modalities for rates fixation of essential commodities | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Dec 30: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers, members of different associations and prominent citizens to finalize the modalities for the rate fixation of essential commodities.
A threadbare discussion was held during the meeting on several issues including fluctuation of rates, non-functioning of slaughterhouse, grading of essential commodities, proper checking of rate lists and checking of overpricing of the essential commodities.
DDC asked the concerned officers to ensure the strict enforcement of the rates which will soon be finalised. He also directed them to ensure that the essential items shall be sold at a uniform rate throughout the municipal limit. AD FCS&CA and Tehsildar Rajouri were instructed to finalise the rates of meat including sheep and goat and other commodities like karyana, eggs, chicken, milk and milk made products. They were further directed to prepare the rate list of essential commodities in consonance with the Associations and prominent citizens.
DDC directed to constitute sub-committees for market checking at regular intervals to ensure the strict enforcement of the rates as finalised by the district committee. The concerned officers were also asked to ensure that proper hygiene shall be maintained in the retail outlets with installed electronic weighing system besides rates list shall be displayed at a prominent place at each shop for the convenience of the consumers.DDC made it clear that any violation of the rates by the shopkeepers shall lead to strict action against them. |
