Kashmir-centric leaders created scare to rule J&K
Enjoyed perks, privileges at cost of people

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 30:

Kashmir-centric leaders, who were detained on or after August 5, are slowly becoming a history as confining them has not had any effect on the people.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It is strange that the leaders who used to claim that they are representatives of people have become irrelevant just within the span of 5 months. People of Kashmir have not even staged a single protest to seek their release."
He said that recent developments have proved it beyond doubt that Kashmir-centric leaders had no mass following. "The detained leaders were asked by the administration to give a written assurance that they won't indulge in any such activity which would disturb peace. The ones who gave the assurance are out but the ones who didn't continue to remain confined," the analyst added.
An observer said that the second rung leaders of National Conference, People's Democratic Party and People's Conference too seem to have deserted their parties and they are looking for greener pastures. "Ones who were not detained have fled Kashmir and are enjoying at other places. The myth of Kashmiri politicians being the voice of people stand shattered and it has been proved beyond doubt that they just misled New Delhi during the past 70 years," the observer added.
He said that these leaders enjoyed all the privileges and perks by just pitching a false narrative and projecting themselves as they being the only people who could run Jammu & Kashmir. "The successive regimes at centre never made an attempt to shatter their myth and followed their dictations. They kept on creating a scare and thrived on it," the observer claimed.
He said that the wrong practices followed by Kashmir-centric leaders have led to people losing faith over the democratic process. "Otherwise 70 years is a long time. If these leaders wanted they could have achieved a lot but their focus was not the people but the power. They becoming irrelevant just within 5 months has proved it beyond doubt that they managed to rule J&K just due to the blessings of New Delhi and they had no locus-standi of their own," the observer added.
Another analyst said, "The detained Kashmiri leaders have lost their credibility and stand exposed. They have not been left with any face saving measure. Their future looks bleak as their parties stand decimated and their workers disillusioned."
