DDC reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission

UDHAMPUR, Dec 30: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today convened a meeting with officers of different departments to review the current progress of ' Jal Jeevan Mission' in the district.
The meeting was attended by SE PHE Hydraulic Circle Udhampur Kuldip Badyal, Chief Planning Officer Rajeev Bhushan, District Information Officer Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, Executive Engineer PHE Division Taj Chowdhary, Executive Engineer Ground water Chief Education Officer P.D Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer Satish Bhagat, AEEs ,AEs and JEs of PHE &Irrigation Department.
Earlier, SE Hydraulic gave presentation about the scheme Jal Jeevan Mission and role of different department for effective implementation of the scheme in the district. SE informed that there are 184 schemes out of which DPR of 19 schemes have been completed and approved by District Level Water and Sanitation Committee. He also informed that under JJM level of supply will also be upgrade from 40 LPC to 56 LPC.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Jal Jeevan Mission is centrally sponsored scheme launched by the government of India with objective to provide100 per cent tap water to all households across the nation.
DDC directed field functionaries of PHE Department that DPRs should be framed after community mobilization and ensure that no household is left without water connection and submit DPRs after vetted by PRIs. He stressed for tapping of all sustainable water resources for the benefits of community. DDC asked the concerned to identify the water resources in consultation with Public and PRIs and stressed for community participation.
DDC further stressed that PHE sector is main priority sectors and all officers/officials should work hard to reach out to the people with zeal, sincerity and dedication. DDC exhorted upon the officers of the PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control departments for effective implementation of the schemes in letter and spirit in the district. He called upon the people to come forward for availing the benefits of various schemes and programmes.
