NHPC Salal to develop Sailanjan village of Reasi with Rs 8 crore

REASI, Dec 31: Deputy Commissioner lndu KanwaJ Chib along with District Officers and General Manager NHPC Salal Gursharan Singh conducted a tour of Sailanjan village of Tehsil Thakrakote for ground implementation of development fund under Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR of NHPC Project Salal. Starting with village Sailanjan and a sum of Rs 8 crore, NHPC Project Salal is going to spend more for multifaceted development of a couple of villages of the district.
During the visit, detailed discussions were was held with PRI representatives and district officers of various line departments regarding implementation of development plan of Rs 8 crore. Availability of suitable land for construction of infrastructure under the plan was also discussed. Tehsildar Thakrakote assured full cooperation by providing sufficient state land for the purposes.
Main decisions taken during the visit include maintenance of existing 8.5 km road between Dhyangarh to the High School Sailanjan with allocation of Rs 4.18 crore. Works for lanes and drains for a stretch of about 2 kms, amounting to Rs 25.60 lakh was also decided to be taken up. Construction of a Community Hall and a Community Sanitary Complex was discussed for and are expected to be erected in Sai Mohalla. A Medical dispensary with a budget of Rs 60 lakh on land identified by Revenue Department would also be constructed soon.
A sum of Rs 37.5 lakh has been dedicated to construction of boundary wall around Government Girls High School Sailanjan and other Rs 10 lakh have been allotted for development of school complex, play ground and furniture. Coaching classes for class 9 and 10 would soon be started at a cost of Rs 2.4 lakh wherein local educated staff would impart quality education in the students.
Vacant land under khasra number 208, measuring 15 kanal, was also identified on spot in presence of DC Reasi and Tehsildar Thakrakote to be used by NHPC for development of Sailanjan.
