12/31/2019 11:07:37 PM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

Jammu, Dec 31: Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu thanked G.C. Murmu, Hon'ble Lt. Governor J&K for agreeing to the long pending demand of Jammu Traders and getting the notification issued wherein the Lakhanpur Toll Post shall seized to exist w.e.f January 2020. While celebrating this historic decision, traders of ware house nehru market gathered outside the main gate of ware house and raised slogans in favour of Modi Government and G.C. Murmu, Lt. Governor J&K.
The General Secretary of Federation, Deepak Gupta on this occassion said that the Lakhanpur Excise Toll levy was not less than a Jazia tax that continued even after the implementation of GST. Deepak Gupta said that when GST was implemented in the whole country, traders demonstrated outside the warehouse and demanded the implementation of GST in Jammu and Kashmir. The traders were hopeful that the implementation of GST would give relief from Lakhanpur toll tax, but it did not. GST was implemented in Jammu and Kashmir and toll tax was not removed. The Federation strongly raised the issue of double tax on consumers and demanded the removal of Lakhanpur toll tax. Gupta said that when Jammu and Kashmir became a Union Territory, the hope of removing the Lakhanpur toll tax was tied, but disappointment was felt. Gupta said that by removing the Lakhanpur toll tax today, the government has made a real merger of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Now we can say that there is ONE NATION-ONE TAX. Dheeraj Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Munish Mahajan, Vc. President, Abhimanyu Gupta, Secretary, Vishal Gupta, Cashier of the Federation and Senior Member Kirti Gupta, Anil Gupta, Ram Langer, Rajesh Gupta & Sunil Gupta were also present on this occasion.
