JK Govt employees likely to get salary hike after budget session
Monthly Dearness Allowance to jump from 17 % to 21 %
2/1/2020 11:41:31 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 1 : The government workers in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir are likely going to have a salary hike along with other central government employees after the ongoing budget session in the parliament.
As per the reports, the central government may announce the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the Central Government employees after the Union Budget 2020.
This time, central government employees are expecting their H1-2020 DA hike by at least 4 per cent. If the Central Government announces 4 per cent DA hike for the central government employees, their DA will jump from 17 per cent to 21 per cent.
The DA hike announcement will benefit around 1.1 crore central government employees and pensioners. This DA hike will be announced on the basis of inflation rise during the period of July to December 2019.
Meanwhile, the government employees discharging their duties in Jammu and Kashmir are likely going to be the first in the lot of the government workers of other states to get the salary benefit as they came under the central laws on October 31, last year when Jammu and Kashmir was officially declared as a union territory.
The central government on October 22 had said all government employees of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh would get financial facilities as per the 7th Pay Commission's recommendations from October 31. The decision will help over 4.5 lakh government employees of these UTs. The government will bear around Rs 4,800 crore worth of cost due to the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission in the UTs.
Central government on November 1 formally revoked the state of Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional autonomy and split it into two federal territories in an attempt to integrate it fully into the country.
At midnight on October 31, the state was formally taken under direct control and split into the territories of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, bringing an end to decades of semi-autonomous rule.
Earlier in November, last year, two back to back orders were issued by the department of finance on November 28, 2019 in which grant of transport allowance and grant of Child Education Allowance (CEA) was approved , thus leaving more than 4.5 lac government employees all euphoric and joyous.
As per the government order no 473 of 2019, Dated 28-11-2019, the amount for reimbursement of Children Education allowance will be RS.2250/-per month (fixed) per child. This amount of RS.2250/- is fixed irrespective of the actual expenses incurred by the Govt. Servant. In order to claim reimbursement of CEA, the Govt. servant should produce a certificate issued by the Head of the Institution for the period/year for which claim has been preferred.
