Srinagar, Feb 4 Panic gripped Armed Police complex in the outskirts of Srinagar when bodies of a police constable and his relative were recovered under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday.
Official sources toldthat Armed police constable Sameerji Koul was staying in Armed Police complex at Zewan under police station Pantha Chowk. Sameerji was last night joined by his relative Veerji Koul.
They said, "This morning the other inmates of the residential quarters of the complex could not find Sameerji, they knocked the door. After getting no answer from the room which was locked from inside, the concerned police station was informed and door was finally opened to find Sameerji and Veerji dead. The cause of their death was not known."
"The bodies were taken away by police after registering a case," they said.
Sources said bodies of both the deceased have been taken for postmortem. "Police has registered a case and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstance in which the duo died," they added.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the bodies of the deceased would be handed over to their relatives for last rite.
