Prominent social workers from Thathri join BJP

JAMMU, Feb 4: Thathri residents in a form of Deputation consisting dozens of people from Kandi Belt of sub-Division Thathri, today approached Bharatiya Janata Party and called upon Ashok Kaul, State General Secretary (Org.) Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. They raised several issues concerning local populace of the region.
Thakur Basant Raj led the deputation and highlighted various grave issues concerning and affecting day to day life and requested for the speedy work over the matters.
Deputation highlighted that the construction of much awaited and pending Kandi Canal in Thathri area be taken up at the earliest. They also requested for construction of National Highway from Marmat to Kishtwar (Khellani - Dharbshalla via Bhella, Parnot, Panthan, Kandhote, Shahrot, Jangluad, Phagsu, Tipri, Badan and Chamoti), allocation of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Kandhote for the better education facilities and allocation of Degree College at Kandi Belt so that the students can attend to the higher studies at their nearby place with ease.
Deputation also demanded allocation of Professional College at Bhella, construction of stadium at Panthan, construction of road from Prem Nagar to Kandhote via Parnote Upper Charya, construction of road from Charya to Bhatona and construction of road from Chamana to Dandasan Mata via Zelu.
Thathri residents said that they are demanding and fighting for the issues since long and now have approached the BJP leadership with the request to look into the matter and do the needful.
Ashok Kaul, while listening to the issues raised by the deputation, appreciated their concern for the public issues. He heard the deputation very patiently and gave full assurance that he will definitely going to take up the matter very seriously with the concerned for the early redress of the genuine demands in the greater interest of public.
Many prominent persons involved in the social works also joined the ranks of BJP on the occasion. Among them Retd. Principal Girdhari Lal Bhagat r/o Bhella, Retd. AEE Balwant Singh r/o Kandhote, Retd. Headmaster Himmat Singh Manhas R/o Parnote, Retd. Capt. Ramesh Manhas and others joined BJP on the occasion.
Manohar Lal Arian, Hans Raj Manhas, Kashmir Singh, Bhag Singh Manhas (Retd. Lecturer), Hari Ram (Retd. Master), Naresh Bhagat, Sher Singh Rakwal, Gandharb Singh, Vandana Thakur, Zaffar Ali and others were part of the deputation.
