Quality education key to youth empowerment: Rana

NAGROTA, Feb 11: Expressing satisfaction over considerable turnaround in educational scenario across Nagrota Assembly Constituency, especially in the wake of Bharati Foundation stepping in to supplement the effort, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today called for sustaining the momentum to achieve the objective of youth empowerment.
"Quality education together with sports and extra-curricular activities are crucially important for human resource development", Rana said while addressing the concluding function of Inter-school Sports Spark, held under the aegis of Bharati Foundation at Government Middle School, Dinner Lehar area of the constituency this afternoon.
In all 206 students from five Government Middle Schools of Simbal Lehar, Govt High School Dhammi, Govt Middle School Jagti, Govt Primary School Topki and Govt Primary School participated in the Spark and joined competitions in various games including Kabbadi and Athelets, sponsored and organized by Bharati Foundation.
Rana elaborately dwelt upon outreach of education in the constituency and said due to consistent efforts three higher and three high schools have been opened to ensure door step educational facilities to the students. This will go a long way in ornamenting youth with quality education, he said and referred to the role of Bharti Foundation in adopting 25 schools to open up new vistas of quality academics. He said the initiative has made all the difference by putting in practice a new model of education, devised by the Foundation.
Rana expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for extending the Quality Support Programme in 26 schools across the constituency on pilot basis, hoping it's another phase will cover other schools. He appreciated the effort of Anil Bhat, Project Head, Bharti Foundation who along with his team of mentors is working tirelessly to implement interventions that contribute towards enriching the overall schooling experience.
Complementing the participating schools and students for their pro-active participation in the Spark, Rana underscored the importance of sports in forging camaraderie and inculcating spirit of discipline among youngsters, hoping that educational institutions will take lead in overall growth of children.
