85-yr old Hindu man thrown out of his house after he gets visa to India
Minorities face persecution in so-called Naya Pakistan
2/11/2020 11:47:19 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Feb 11: In Naya Pakistan led by cricketer turned politician, Imran Khan, minorities are facing worst kind of persecution.
While talking to national news channel CNN-News, a Hindu migrant from Pakistan, Mohar Singh, said that his 85-year old father along with his four minor children was thrown out of his house after he managed to get an Indian visa.
Mohar Singh said that he came to India in 2010 and after that made no attempt to return to Pakistan. “I preferred to work as an ordinary labour in India rather than having a white collared job in Pakistan,” Singh told the news channel.
Mehak Kumari, a 14 year old minor, who was abducted by the extremists in Pakistan, told the court in Pakistan that she wants to return to her parents as she was forcibly abducted and compelled to change her religion. Following her statement the court reserved its judgement till February 18. Soon after the court reserved its judgment a video-clip of a man asking people to gherao the court on February 18 went viral. “We will not allow the girl to go back to Hindus,” the man is heard saying in the video clip.
A Hindu leader of ruling Pakistan-Tehreek-Insaf, while talking to the news channel over phone acknowledged that members of the minority communities do face problems in Pakistan and assured that Mehak Kumari will return to her parents and the 85-year old man who has been thrown out of his home after he got a visa for India would get justice.
An analyst told Early Times that “Since the day Imran Khan has become the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the fascism and intolerance in the neigbouring country have increased manifolds.”
Quoting media reports the analyst said that at least 1000 minor girls from the different minority communities are forced to convert their religion in Pakistan every year. “Members of minority communities who faced persecution in Pakistan left everything behind and got settled in India. At present minorities in Pakistan are demanding that the Government of India (GoI) should at least issue 10,000 visas every month to facilitate the members of the minority community who want to safeguard their honour and dignity by leaving that country.”
An observer said that “atrocities against minorities” in Imran Khan’s tenure have seen a steep rise. “Khan has danced to the tunes of the radical elements and the hate mongers. Pakistan is heading towards a devastation,” he added.
