Heroin, ganja, desi liquor seized
9 drug peddlers arrested by Jammu Police

JAMMU, Feb 15: Continuing its drive against drugs, under operation Sanjeevani Police arrested at least eight drug peddlers in different Police Stations of Jammu district.
A police party of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania while on patrolling duty at the road leading to Miran Sahib, apprehended three persons who seemed to be suspicious. They were identified as Bodh Ram Chandra, Rampal Bhagat and Sumit Kumar Sharma, during search, 10 Kgs of ganja were recovered from their possession.
In another case, a police party of Police Post Greater Kailash during while on naka apprehended two persons who were roaming around in suspicious circumstances. They were identified as Ajmer Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, during search, 50 Gms of heroin like Substance was recovered from their possession.
Meanwhile, a police party of Police Station Kana Chak headed by SHO, Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar while on naka checking at Halqa Kullay, stopped one vehicle bearing Regd. No. JK02BT-9151 for checking. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Raj Kumar, during search, 82 small bottles (quarters) of Desi JK whiskey were recovered from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Janipur headed by ASI Maqbool Hussain while on naka duty at Muthi Morh, apprehended two persons who were roaming there suspiciously. They were identified as Mohit Sudan and Deepak Bhat on search, 4 Gms heroin like substance was recovered from their possession.
In another case, a police party of Police Station Kana Chak headed by SHO, Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar while on naka duty at Deharan near BPP Gajansoo, asked one pedestrian to stop for checking, who on seeing the Police, tried to escape from the spot. He was identified as Davinder Singh son of Ram Singh resident of Deharan. During search, 550 Gms. Ganja was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, separate cases under relevant sections have been registered against arrested persons.
