Mendhar, Feb 15: In a very shocking incident, the students of Government High School Girls (GHSG) Ari were forced to the carry desks for 2.5 kms. The teacher, who was escorting them, was carrying baton in his hand to take work from students forcefully. The video of incident has gone viral in social media. Meanwhile, the concerned SDM Mendhar has ordered inquiry into this matter.
As per reports, the students of GHSG Ari were seen carrying study desks on their head as they were taking these desks to to Government Middle School Ari, which was nearly 2.5 kms from that place. Instead of engaging labourers, the school administration compelled its students to carry study desks on their heads.
“With the deployment of security forces in the area nearly six months ago when Article 370 was abrogated, the security personal were stayed in the Government High School Girls, now after six months the concerned department took decision to club the school with GMS Ari and as part of shifting, the students were asked to take desks to the other school which was 2.5 kms. The teachers forced them to follow the instruction by showing them baton, which was total harassment to the students,” the locals alleged.
They further said that the students were in uniform and they were kept engaged by the school from 10 am to 4 pm. Students had to cover the distance which was in steep.
When contacted the SDM Mendhar Sahil Jandyal, he said the he had just seen the pictures and issued an order of inquiry to the concerned department. “I have instructed the Dy CEO Rajouri to initiate inquiry. Action will be taken against the erring teachers, who forced the students to do such inhuman work,” he said.
