Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 15: Two major political parties are scheduled to be launched in Kashmir in the coming days, the Early Times learnt from reliable sources.
The sources said while one of the parties will be floated in the summer capital of Srinagar, the other one will be launched in north Kashmir.
While the party scheduled to be floated in Srinagar, by a former leader of the Peoples Democratic Party was already on the cards, the other party will be launched by young leadership from north Kashmir areas including frontier Kupwara and Uri.
Sources said at least three prominent youth leaders from north Kashmir have united and decided to float a party that will work for providing better amenities, especially the road connectivity to the countryside.
Sources said a decision in this regard was taken by the youth leaders after “fruitful” deliberations with the Union Ministers in New Delhi.
Sources said the first demand of the youth group is construction of the long-pending Sadhna tunnel to provide all weather connectivity to the residents of the frontier in north Kashmir.
Sources said New Delhi has approved the demand and asked for a Detailed Project Report for construction of the proposed facility.
It was reliably learnt that the Union Government not only gave a patient hearing to the youth leaders and their supporters but also assured them of fulfilling the promises as made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir for development of “Naya Kashmir”.
The youth leadership had met some of the high profile BJP leaders and Union ministers including Nitin Gadkari and Dr Jitendra Singh recently.
The youth leaders, who are being seen as the “new leaders of new Kashmir”, have long been speaking against the “dynasts including the Abdullahs and the Muftis.”
The youth leaders, through their party want to get rid of the “dynasts” and look ahead to give the people of Kashmir a leadership that will work like “workers.”
“We don’t want to be the netas but want to be workers who will work for development of Kashmir- Naya Kashmir,” one of the leaders from the youth group recently told media.
