Jugal inaguartes Health Mela

JAMMU, Feb 15: "Health Mela" was organized at village Thial which was inaugurated by Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency in presence of Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner, Health & Medical Education Department.
He was also accompanied by R.S. Pathania, Former MLA, Principal, Govt. Medical College Doda, Principal, Govt. Medical College Kathua, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr. K.C. Dogra, Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur and many other dignitaries.
Dr. Yashpal Sharma, one of the member of the Society informed that the mela is being organized every year in association with the Directorate of Health Services Jammu, in the memory of Late Shri Durga Dass Sharma, a noted and well known Social Worker of the area, by his family members who are also the members of Shri Durga Dass Memorial Society.
He further informed that the public of Village Thial and adjoining areas are provided with Health Care Facilities which includes services of Physician, Surgeon, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Gynae & Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Eye, ENT Surgeons, Dermatologist, Urologist, Cancer Specialist, Cardiologist, Dental Surgeon and the diagnostic services like X-ray, ECG, Ultrasound, Blood Sugar Testing, etc. More than 100 patients were registered for cataract surgery by Dr. Ashok Sharma, Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, Govt. Medical College Jammu.
Dr. Arun Mahajan, Physician Specialist, Dr. Jyotsana, Gynaecologist, Dr. Shalinder, ENT, Dr. Deepak Abrol, Cancer Specialist, Dr. Manisha Langer, Radiologist, Dr. Ranjit Singh Rathore, Urologist, Dr. Sanjeet Singh Parihar, ENT Specialist and other doctors and paramedics of Block Majalta also attended the camp. About 3000 including AYUSH patients in different specialities were examined and provided free medicines and also more than 300 patients were tested for Blood Sugar. Jugal Kishore Sharma appreciated the efforts of Society. He appreciated the Organisors for this great event and assured that the work on connecting road from Village Thial to Village Chogan and repair and renovation of all natural water bodies (bowlies) of village Thial, shall be initiated shortly.
