Farooq unlikely to take confrontation with Centre immediately

Early Times Report

Jammu, March 13: Despite provocation by over enthusiastic party workers, former chief minister Dr Farooq Abdullah maintained a guarded silence after his detention was revoked this afternoon. Soon after his detention under Public Safety Act (PSA) was revoked, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar said that he will prefer to maintain silence till the other leaders are released.
By maintaining a silence after revocation of his detention, Dr Abdullah has proved that unlike Omar and Mehbooba, he is a mature politician because he is very much aware that giving any controversial statement at this point of time would be proved counterproductive.
Credible sources said that after his release, Dr Abdullah will reach Delhi on Sunday to attend ongoing session of the Parliament on Monday. Dr Abdullah will meet with opposition leaders at Delhi before taking any decision to take confrontation with Centre.
In four-minute interaction with the media persons at his home at Gupkar in Srinagar, Abdullah, who is also the patron of regional National Conference (NC) said that although he has been set free after seven months of incarceration but, still it is not full freedom as many of the leaders are still kept under detention at different places including at MLA hostel.
Abdullah while interacting with media persons expressed happiness over his release and said that he will be completely happy when the leaders under incarceration will be released.
He, however, said that he will not make any political statement over any issue till the other leaders are released. Abdullah also thanked the people who prayed for his released in last seven months.
Abdullah further stated that “I will go to the parliament and will raise the voice there.”
