Early Times Report
ANANTNAG, Mar 20: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang Pole on Friday visited Zig Qazigund COVID19 Screening Center a day after 'Early Times' exposed the shortcomings of the screening center setup by the Health Department. Taking advantage of the shortcomings at COVID19 Screening Center, Commuters and Truckers drivers were spotted skipping the mandatory screening.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang Pole during his visit to Qazigund directed health department to setup separate COVID19 Screening Center for truckers and oil-tankers drivers at Lower-Munda Qazigund. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir also directed the health department to agument the existing COVID19 Screening Center at Zig Qazigund by deploying more staff and requisite equipments.
The directions issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir vindicate the Early Times Report titled 'Commuters skip COVID19 screening at Zig Qazigund as Centre sans manpower, equipments'.
Later, the Div Com also visited Trauma Hospital Qazigund to take stock of the healthcare arrangements for the public. He asked the concerned CMO to ensure availability of isolation awards in the hospital, which can be used during emergencies if need arises and also display the information about the COVID - 19 precautionary measures for the general public, besides ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital. He also visited Transit camp at Walnut Factory Qazigund to see if the said camp can be used during the emergency, raised if at all due to COVID - 19. He directed for the mecadamization of the roads and lawns of the transit camp at the earliest.
