Appointment of S D Singh as IGP (Security) hailed by all sections of society

jammu, Mar 20: Appointment of Dr S D Singh, IAS as IGP, is welcomed by all sections of the society because the efficient officer- who is known for his integrity and professional approach, is going to further strength this wing as head of the security.
During his tenure as SSP as well as IGP Jammu, S D Singh has already proved his capability and capacity to handle important positions. S D Singh, during his tenure as SSP Jammu in 2008 when Amarnath land row was at its peak, ensure peace and tranquility in while Jammu district. Before his appointment as SSP Jammu, whole Jammu district was on boil, the then state government appointed S D Singh as SSP Jammu to save the situation from further worsening. During his tenure as SSP Jammu in the year 2008, Dr S D Singh has not only controlled the situation but also brought agitating groups on dialogue process to restore lasting peace.
He was posted as IGP Jammu in the month of February 2016. Dr S.D Singh, an IPS Officer of 1995, prior to his posting as IGP Jammu Zone, Singh had served in the Police Department in various capacities as SDPO Kothibagh, Additional SP Doda, SP Leh, SP Kupwara, SSP Traffic, Jammu, SSP Poonch, SSP Vigilance, SSP Jammu, SSP SSG J and K, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, DIG, SKPA Udhampur and thereafter proceeded on deputation to Central Government in Intelligence Bureau and later in Ministry of External Affairs as Counsellor in High Commission of Indian in Colambo, Srilanka for the last six years.
