Dharmarth Trust closes Temples & Shrines across J&K to combat COVID-19

JAMMU, Mar 20: Taking serious note of the gravity of the situation arising out of the global outbreak of coronavirus and subsequent advisories being issued by the government authorities, Dharmarth Trust J&K has ordered closure of all the temples, shrines and public places coming under its realm for visitors, devotees and pilgrims till 31st March, 2020. However, the regular practice and rituals of prayers shall continued to be performed by the Pujaries of the Temples and Shrines. Besides, the parks and open spaces around these shrines and temples have also been declared out of bounds for the visitors till the aforesaid date.
In a statement issued here today, Mubarak Singh, President Dharmarth Trust said that Dharmarth Trust has taken proactive steps to ensure implementation of preventive measures for containing the effect of this viral outbreak which has shaken the people around the world. He made it clear that Dharmarth Trust will actively cooperate and coordinate with the government and its orders to fight this virus which has wreaked havoc globally and has affected our State as well.
Mubarak Singh said that Dharmarth Trust has wasted no time in following orders and preventive measures issued by the government in combating coronavirus outbreak and would continue to do so. The President, Dharmarth Trust also appealed to the general public, devotees and employees of the Dharmarth Trust to strictly follow guidelines of the authorities including social distancing and hygiene practices in aid of public health and safety. He also informed that the DT has decided to install hoardings and banners in the temples of the Trust. Mubarak Singh informed that the requisite precautions have taken in all the temples of Kashmir Valley also. He said that the Shankaracharya Temple has been closed while the entry in others temples have also been restricted due to imposition of Section 144. In Jammu city, Sri Raghunath Ji and Sri Ranbireshwar Ji Temples have been closed amongst several others across Jammu region.
